Hey girl hey! Congratulations on your recent engagement! Spring is here and if you're anything like me, you love spring time in New England! While I do love photographing weddings, engagement sessions also bring me joy. So far, I've had the opportunity to photograph couples in many beautiful locations and since I am based in Boston, I wanted to give you 8 beautiful locations in Boston to consider for your engagement session.
THE MUSEUM OF FINE ART: This elegant location in Boston is amazing for formal shots. The Museum is honestly my favorite place in Boston, I can spend hours there! The ambience is formal and beautiful. Boston wedding photographers believe that this location is the perfect place for couples who love beauty and want to maintain formality at the same time. If you are outside of Boston, I also suggest the Fitchburg Art Museum, also one of my favorites.
THE PUBLIC GARDEN: The public garden is also one of my favorite locations to photograph couples in Boston. There are so many beautiful locations in the garden for photography. I always suggest arriving very early (before 8am) to beat the crowd. Because it is in the heart of Boston and a popular tourist destination, it is well worth arriving early for.
BEACON HILL: Also a popular location for engagement session, Beacon Hill has so many nooks and crannies to discover for beautiful photographs. It has amazing gas lamps, brick sidewalks, beautiful flowers and full of colonial history. It is a perfect place for an engagement session, especially for those who love beautiful atmosphere. Beacon Hill looks absolutely gorgeous in the Fall months and if you are considering taking engagement photos during that time, I highly suggest this location.
THE SEAPORT DISTRICT: Many people complain to Boston wedding photographers that they get distracted by the varying color at different locations for engagement photos. I bet that the Seaport District is not one of those locations. Its neutral color is perfect for whatever outfit that you plan to wear. Its urban scenery and clean architectural setup makes this place a cool place for an engagement photo.
THE ESPLANADE: Situated in Back Bay bank of the Charles River. This park is a beautiful location with perfect views of Charles River and Boston. This location is great for couples who love nature and the city. With this location, you get a great combination of the two.
THE MASS AVE BRIDGE: This is definitely a unique location and not for the shy couple. This location gets a lot of car traffic but the views are definitely worth it! I wouldn't recommend using this location for your entire shoot but if it is near your main location of choice, I definitely recommend stopping by. This is also a location that should be visited early in the morning before the traffic begins and the runners are out.
THE ARNOLD ARBORETUM: Ahhh the Arnold Arboretum is seriously one of my favorite locations for photography. This park is huge and beautiful! I image this location for the romantic couple who loves flowers, long walks and a quiet escape from the city. This is also the perfect place to set up a picnic and invite me along to capture the moment!
BUNKER HILL MONUMENT: Perfect for the couple who loves history, the Bunker Hill Monument gives you a wonderful view of downtown. Wedding photographers in New England like me find this place incredible for engagement sessions!
Whether you are dreaming of a quiet peaceful setting for your engagement photos or historical locations with city views, there are so many places in Boston to capture your engagement session! I always suggest that couples choose a location that means a lot to them. Either way, you'll never run out of ideas in Boston!
