Please allow me to have a proud girlfriend moment as I gloat about the fact that Eddie ran and completed the 121st Boston Marathon. This was his second time running and when he first told me about his plans to run and raise money, I must admit I didn't take him seriously. 26.2 miles is a pretty big deal, especially to me, someone who barely likes to get off the couch. As the day came closer, his training increased. Our Saturday mornings were spent apart as he trained. When the day finally arrived, I stood by his side with my camera, trying to capture as much as I could. This man motivates me in more ways than I could ever imagine. He dreams big and sets even bigger goals and always puts his all in achieving them.
I was able to get a great spot near the finish line so that I could capture him and let me tell yah, his 'before' photos are very different from the 'after photos.' My poor man was exhausted and in excruciating pain ( a trip to the Olive Garden certainly helped). The medal pictured below was worn around his neck for several days after the marathon!
I'd like to be very honest by saying that I'd like to be like Eddie when I grow up.
