While some traditionalists prefer waiting until the alter to see each other on their big day, having a first look can be just as special—and much more personal. Having a first look before the ceremony provides an intimate, emotional moment for the both of you, allowing you to prepare for the life-changing moment you are about to share in front of your family and friends.Read More

A moment of honesty...
I’ve never photographed a destination wedding before. There... I said it, now it is officially out there. If I had one wish it would be to get on a plane right now and travel to anywhere in the world, it really doesn't matter where. Becoming a destination wedding photographer is #goals. I’ve spent over a year building this business and I believe in speaking things into existence. I’m looking forward to getting an email from someone asking if I could be part of their special day in Mexico or Puerto Rico, Haiti or the Bahamas. I find so much excitement in exploring the world. Flying brings freedom, being somewhere new brings discovery and meeting new people brings the opportunity to make lifelong friendships.
This is my 2016 goal. I know that we are halfway through the year already but a girl can dream right? I am so excited to book a destination wedding and I am being totally honest by saying that I’ve never traveled for a destination wedding. I would like to extend a free destination wedding package for anyone reading this and willing to help me build my destination wedding photography portfolio. You just cover flight, accommodation and fees and I will provide 8 hours of photography coverage, high resolution images and print release. This offer is for couples getting married in 2016/2017. What qualifies as a destination wedding? Anywhere outside of New England! I am only extending this to 5 awesome couples.

0/5 couples booked so far... what are you waiting for?!
So you try to book your wedding photographer and you're on a budget and so you think of an idea: what if I tell the photographer that they don't have to edit the images, I can either do it myself or my aunt is a semi professional photographer and knows how to edit. You're thinking the photography coverage will be cheaper! Actually not, in most cases it will cost more.
The best way that I've heard this explained before is that RAW files are a lot like uncooked ingredients. Once the images have been edited, it's almost like cooking them... they become a final product. But the uncooked ingredients are more valuable because from them, you can cook what ever you want... meaning you can edit the images however you want.
When I edit images from your wedding, it's more work for me but complimentary to you because I can't just hand you over RAW ingredients...you're not a chef. When I am behind the camera, I am capturing the moment the way I see it. I've started a painting and I must finish it in post processing. I can't give you my unfinished work for you to change.
When looking for a discount on wedding photography, asking for RAW files is not the way to go. What's great about my wedding collections is that I do not require a full payment up front. 40% along with travel fees are due in order to secure your date and the remaining balance is due 14 days before your wedding date. Payment plans are an option as well.

If you've been following me for a while then you know that I only photograph weddings and boudoir. That is what makes me happy but very rarely I get asked to do a family session and believe it or not I don't like to say no sometimes.Read More

Who is Fritzmean? I’ve been asked before why I chose to name my photography business ‘Fritzmean.’ Since my name is Vanessa, why not name it ‘Vanessa Photography’ Well, I am Fritzmine. I was named after my parents: Fritz and Yasmine. Since I am their first child, my father insisted that I be named after him which is interesting because they’ve always called me by my middle name ‘Vanessa.’ My love for photography came from my father and because no one has ever pronounced ‘Fritzmine’ correctly, I decided to change it a bit so that it would never be mispronounced again: Fritzmean. Clever huh?
My weekend was spent location scouting outside of Boston. It is so important that photographers look for great locations to photograph before each session. You want a location that speaks to your clients as well as style of photography. Read this post to view the great pictures that I took at Wolloston beach in Quincy, Arnold Arboretum in Jamaican Plain and Boston College in Newton.Read More

Wake. Pray. Slay
Welcome to my first ever weekend recap series (woot woot)! Because I do not work from home yet, I look forward to the weekend. I try to plan every weekend so that I am doing a fun activity in Boston with Eddie but of course it doesn’t always happen that way. Most weekends are spent relaxing with him and I honestly like it that way. Last weekend however was filled with great food and fun activities. Here is my recap of June 3-5, 2016.
On Friday I went to my first concert... yup that’s right, I’ve never been to a concert. For my birthday Eddie surprised me with tickets to see Beyoncé for her formation world tour. I was happy about the tickets but the excitement didn’t kick in until the day of the concert. I spent the entire Friday singing her songs in my head. I honestly have to say that this was the best first concert experience ever. Beyoncé has the most loyal fans! The concert was held at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro Massachusetts, I’m pretty sure it sold out within minutes of going on sale, the stadium was packed! DJ Khalid opened up and he put on a great show though I was a bit disappointed because he didn't stay on too long. He only stayed for about 20 minutes and for some reason I was hoping that he would bring out a special guest but that didn’t happen. I've always been a fan of Beyonce’s music. Her voice is undeniably amazing but now I am a fan of Beyonce. She put in work on that stage and gave everyone 100% I was blown away by her all female dance group and band. She is simply amazing!
I worked out! For the first time in a long time, I was active. Trust me, this is so embarrassing for me to say out loud but I am not a big fan of working out but on Saturday I hit the local track & field and put in work. That’s great news right? Ready for the bad news? Eddie and I went to TGI Friday’s after. This is a judgment free zone.....
Sunday’s are meant to be relaxing. It rained the entire day which was really nice to wake up to. We spent the morning in church then had lunch at chipotle. We have been trying to find a new place to worship and given recommendation that is not too far from where I live. For dinner we went to one of our favorite restaurants in Massachusetts called Bon Chon which is in Allston. This place is absolutely amazing. We go for the Korean soy garlic double fried chicken wings. OMG. This place has become our guilty pleasure and I won’t even mention how many times we have dinner there per month but I promise you it’s shameful. After dinner we headed back home and binged watched several episodes of Grey's Anatomy. When I start a new show I become absolutely obsessed and so that has been our thing but I've turned it into my thing. I can't stop watching the show it is so good and I'll probably dedicate a blog post to it in the future. I see myself in every female character (haha). I’m only on season 6 but this shows tempting me to quit photography and go to med school to become a surgeon.
What did you do this weekend and what do you recommend that I maybe try for next time?
